BLEPHAROPLASTY

blepharoplasty/Eyelid surgery

What is it?

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is often performed as a stand-alone procedure or in combination with a facelift to give a young, refreshed appearance to the eye.

Why is it done?

Some of the problems that may be treated with blepharoplasty include:

  • Hanging skin

  • Tired appearance to the eyes

  • Bulging eyelid fat

  • Dark circles under the eyes

  • Visual obstruction

How is it Done?

An incision is made along the eyelid crease or on the inner side of the eyelid so as to hide the incision in a natural manner.

Anesthesia?

A blepharoplasty may be performed using sedation or general anesthesia and the recovery is often more rapid than other surgical procedures.

More information:

The area around the eyes – and not just the lids – may benefit from rejuvenation along with the blepharoplasty. In order to accomplish this, Dr. Toranto may recommend botox injections, midface lifts, or other procedures to give his patients their desired revitalized and reinvigorated appearance.
